Installing 3.5 inch hard drive into hard drive carrier

Insert the hard drive into the hard drive carrier with the connector end of the hard drive toward the back of the carrier.

Align the screw holes on the hard drive with the screws holes on the hard drive carrier.
When aligned correctly, the back of the hard drive is flush with the back of the hard drive carrier.

Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, tighten the screws to secure the hard drive to the hard drive carrier.
Removing hard drive
Prerequisites

If applicable, remove the front bezel.

Using the management software, prepare the hard drive for removal. If the hard drive is online, the green activity or fault indicator
flashes while the drive is turning off. When the hard drive indicators are off, the hard drive is ready for removal. For more information,
see the documentation for the storage controller.
CAUTION:
To prevent data loss, ensure that your operating system supports hot swappable drive installation. See the
documentation supplied with your operating system.
CAUTION:
Before attempting to remove or install a hard drive while the system is running, see the documentation for the storage
controller card to ensure that the host adapter is configured correctly to support hard drive removal and insertion.
CAUTION:
Mixing hard drives from previous generations of Precision Workstations is not supported.
Steps

Press the release button to open the hard drive release handle.

Holding the handle, slide the hard drive out of the hard drive slot.
