    This chapter provides basic installation instructions and information for obtaining the best performance with the Polycom® CX700 IP phone. The Polycom CX700 IP phone provides a complete phone experience for Microsoft® Lync™ 2010. The graphic display features flexible navigation using its touch screen capabilities, the navigation wheel just below the screen, or the traditional number keypad.

    Customizing Your Phone You can customize your Polycom® CX700 IP phone by adjusting the setting for time and date, display contrast, and ring type, and other features. You can add contacts to the phone’s directory manually or from call lists. You can handle incoming calls from different contacts in different ways.

    • • You can also view the current phone network settings. You must be logged in to configure the basic settings on your Polycom CX700 IP phone. Changing Date and Time Format The date and time appears on the graphic display of the Polycom CX700 IP phone.

    Changing Location and Time Zone You have control over the location and time zone. To configure the location and time zone: Select Date/Time Format, then select your preferred format.     Note Locking and Unlocking Your Phone After a period of inactivity, your Polycom CX700 phone will lock. You can also lock your phone yourself, for example, if you are leaving your desk. The inactivity timeout is configured by Microsoft Lync 2010. For more information, contact your system administrator.
