3.4 Backshell Assembly

The GMA 245 connector kit includes two Garmin backshell assemblies. Garmin's backshell connectors
give the installer the ability to quickly and easily terminate shield grounds at the backshell housing using
the Shield Block. To assemble the backshell connectors and grounding system, refer to instructions
provided in the Section 3.3.

3.5 Audio Shield Termination

For audio shield terminations, the cable shield terminations should be tied to the backshell using ring
terminals and the supplied #8 screws with lock and flat washer per Figure 3-12 and Figure 3-13.
