Testing the FortiAnalyzer configuration

After configuring FortiAnalyzer settings, you can test the connection between the
FortiGate unit and the FortiAnalyzer unit to ensure the connection is working
correctly. This enables you to see the connection between the FortiGate unit and
the FortiAnalyzer unit including the settings specified for transmitting and
receiving logs, reports, content archive, and quarantine files between the
FortiGate unit and the FortiAnalyzer unit.
Note: Make sure the FortiGate unit learns the IP address of the FortiAnalyzer unit before
testing the connection between both units. A false test report failure may occur if you select
Test Connectivity before the FortiGate unit learns the FortiAnalyzer unit's IP address.
To test the connection
Go to Log&Report > Log Config > Log Setting.
Select the blue arrow for FortiAnalyzer to expand the options.
Select the blue arrow to expand the FortiAnalyzer options.
Select Test Connectivity.

FortiAnalyzer
The name of the FortiAnalyzer unit. The default name of a FortiAnalyzer
(Hostname)
unit is its product name, for example, FortiAnalyzer-400.
FortiGate
The serial number of the FortiGate unit.
(Device ID)
Registration
The registration status of the FortiGate unit.
Status
Connection
The connection status between FortiGate and FortiAnalyzer units. A
Status
checkmark indicates there is a connection and an X indicates there is no
connection.
