Before supplying power to the PTX10008, ensure you complete these tasks:
Ground the Chassis on page 19
Install AC Power Supplies on page 21
Install DC Power Supplies on page 24
To meet safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements and to ensure
proper operation, you must connect the PTX10008 to earth ground before you connect
it to power.
For installations that require a separate grounding conductor to the chassis, you must
attach a protective earthing terminal bracket on the PTX10008. There are mounting
holes for the terminal bracket on the left-rear side of the chassis to connect to the earth
ground (see
Figure 18 on page
Step 6–Connecting Power to the Chassis
21).
