The following sections describe how to configure external links that you use in the IPPBX
X6004 Setup Wizard. External calls can be made via the following external links:
• FXO Trunk - connections to the PSTN. See section 8.1.
• SIP Trunk - connections to your ITSP. See section 8.2.
• Trusted Peer - connections to peer SIP servers. For example, another X6004 at a branch
office. See section 8.3.
You must have an FXO interface card already installed on the X6004 to
create a direct connection to a PSTN (see section 2).
