9. If you want the alarm to repeat at a particular interval, press

to display the
RPT
menu. Key in an integer and press the
appropriate key. For example,

causes the alarm to go off
at the same time every other day; 90

the
repeat inter-
val to 11f2 hours.

restores the alarm to non-repeating. You
can specify repeat intervals up to 104 weeks in length (728 days,
17,472 hours, etc.)
10. Press'
EXIT'
to return to
the
APPT
menu. The alarm you just set
will be listed as a pending alarm.
Editing Alarm Settings
When the HP-18C is displaying the alarm-setting menu. you can edit
any of
the
settings. To erase the message, press

Acknowledging an Alarm
When an alarm
"comes
due," the HP-18C beeps and the alarm an-
nunciator comes on.* If the alarm has a message, it is displayed on
line 1; otherwise, the HP-18C displays the date and time of the
alarm.
To acknowledge the alarm and clear the message, press any key while
the HP-18C is beeping. Alarms not acknowledged within 20 seconds
become past due.
If the calculator is turned off when an alarm comes due, it turns itself
on to announce the alarm. If you do not acknowledge the alarm
within 20 seconds, the alarm becomes past due
.
If the HP-18C is in the middle of
a complex
calculation when an alarm comes due, the
alarm annunciator comes on
and
the calculator beeps once. When the calculation is done,
the HP-18C displays the message and resumes beeping for 20 seconds.
