Remove cotter pin (A) and discard.
3.
Align hole in inner blade adapter (B) with notch in gear housing,
and insert locking tool to prevent PTO shaft (C) from rotating.
4.
Remove L.H. blade nut (D) by turning in a clockwise direction.
Remove outer blade adapter (E), blade (F), and inner blade adapter
(B).
5.
Remove plug (G) and grease gear housing. Do not over-fill - grease
will emerge between PTO shaft (C) and seal when overfull.
6.
Reassemble blade following steps 5 - 8 below.

BLADE REPLACEMENT

Level 1
Tools Required:
Locking Tool, 8 mm x 10 mm Open-End Wrench,
Scrench
Parts Required:
Blade, New Cotter Pin, Nut or Blade Pak
1.
Shut engine off.
2.
Remove cotter pin (A).
3.
Align hole in inner blade adapter (B) with notch in gear housing,
and insert locking tool to prevent PTO shaft (C) from rotating.
NOTE
Shield cover not shown for illustration clarity.
4.
Remove L.H. blade nut (D) by turning clockwise. Remove outer
blade adapter (E), blade (F), and inner blade adapter (B).
5.
Install inner blade adapter (B) onto PTO shaft (C).
6.
Install and center blade (F) on inner adapter pilot (B).
WARNING
Use only ECHO-approved attachments. Serious injury may result
from the use of a non-approved attachment combination. Read and

devices, attachments, or accessories which have not been tested
and approved by ECHO.
7.
Install outer adapter (E) and nut (D). Tighten nut (D) firmly,
turning counterclockwise (CCW).
IMPORTANT
Never reuse old cotter pin.
8.
Install new cotter pin (A) (#89850201130) to secure nut, and bend
both legs of pin counterclockwise around PTO shaft.
