Each communication card has two auxiliary digital inputs and one output, which can be used for a wide range
of applications. Inputs must be controlled by dry contact switches and are used by the automation system
software to trigger a response at the thermostat, or to control an output on the communication card. Outputs
are 5V

level signals dlat require the M~de18025 Relay Card to contro124-v!:!~applications.
1. Dlustration 16 (page 23) shows how to wire the inputs and outputs.
2. Place a J' on Diagram #1 to indicate which thermostat/communication card the inputs/outputs are
attached.
3. Use the automation system software to program the inputs and outputs. You can test out the inputs and
outputs using Hypertemlinal. Refer to the
.. Aprilaire Co~nd
Set" on page 25.
P. OPTIONAL - INSTALL SOFfW ARE PACKAGE
1. A fully completed Diagram 1 will make installation of the software package quicker and easier.
Dlustration 17 on page 24 shows how a completed diagram migh~Jook. The diagram should have:

An identifying name of some sort by all of the thermostats .
.
A J' in the Outdoor Temperature or Humidity Sensor if appropriate
.
A '" in the Auxiliary Input and/or Auxiliary Output if appropriate
.
An address for each thermostat.
2. Install the software package using the instructions provided with the software.
