Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This machine complies with all applicable standards and regulations regarding exposure to
electromagnetic fields.
The display
Some buttons can be used to navigate through the menus:
- ESPRESSO button = ESC button: you can press this button to return to the main menu.
The ESC button takes you back one level. You may have to press the ESC button several times
to get back to the main menu. (Fig. 2)
- AROMA STRENGTH button = OK button: you can press this button to select, confirm or stop
a function (Fig. 3).
- CAPPUCCINO button = UP button: press this button to scroll up through the display menu. (Fig. 4)
- SPECIAL DRINKS button = DOWN button: press this button to scroll down through the
display menu (Fig. 5).
First installation
1 Slide the drip tray with drip tray cover into the machine.
2 Remove the water tank.
3 Fill the water tank to the MAX level with fresh water.
4 Fill the coffee bean hopper with coffee beans.
5 Insert the small plug into the socket located on the back of the machine. Insert the mains
plug into the wall socket.
6 Place a container under the hot water and coffee dispensing spouts.
Note: Check if the hot water dispensing spout is installed correctly.
7 Press the STANDBY button to switch on the machine.
8 Press the OK button to start the automatic circuit priming cycle.
9 The display shows the following icon to indicate that the machine is heating up (Fig. 6).
The machine performs an automatic rinsing cycle (Fig. 7).

10 The display shows the following icon to indicate you have to install the AquaClean filter
(Fig. 8).
Note: If you want to install the AquaClean filter afterwards, press the ESC button and continue with the
manual rinsing cycle. For installation, see chapter 'AquaClean filter'.
11 Press the OK button. The display shows the following icon. (Fig. 9)
12 Remove the AquaClean filter from its packaging. Shake the filter for about 5 seconds.
13 Immerse the filter upside down in a jug with cold water and wait until no more air bubbles
come out (Fig. 10).
14 Remove the water tank from the machine, empty it and insert the filter vertically onto the
filter connection. (Fig. 11)
15 Fill the water tank with fresh water and slide it back into the machine.
16 Press the OK button.
17 Select ON on the display and confirm the activation by pressing the OK button (Fig. 12).
Note: The display shows a tick icon to confirm the activation (Fig. 13).
