USING THE COOKTOP
If the flame does not burn evenly all
the way around the burner cap, be
sure the cap is positioned correctly
on the flame spreader.
If the ports are clogged, use a wire, a
straightened paper clip or a needle to
clear the ports on flame spreader. If
the condition persists, contact a
service agency for adjustment.
The burner should light in 4
seconds or less. If a burner does
not light, check to see that the cap is
positioned correctly on the flame
spreader.
RETAINED HEAT
Due to the high mass of this
professional range, heat will be
retained by the grates, burners, and
top frame.
PROPER COOKWARE
Top performance of your new cooktop is directly related to the use of proper pots and pans. A medium
to heavy pan with a flat bottom, within minimum base size and with a good fitting lid is recommended. The
minimum pan base size (diameter) for use on these appliances is 5 1/2 inches (12 cm).

CAUTION
• Foods packaged in aluminum foil should not be placed
directly on the burner grate because cooking aluminum foil
can melt.
• Plastic, paper and clothing can melt or burn when in
contact with a hot burner grate. Do not let items come into
contact with the burner grate.
• Do not allow pans to boil dry. This can damage the pan, the
burner grate, the metal top frame and/or the burner cap and
base.
• Do not touch grate, burner cap or top frame after using
cooktop. The heavy mass of the range holds the heat long after
it's been turned off.
IMPORTANT
• FOR PROPER COMBUSTION, DO NOT USE THE
COOKTOP WITHOUT THE BURNER GRATES IN
PLACE.
• It is normal for a slight "pop" or "Flash" to occur at the burner
ports a few seconds after the burner has been turned off. This
will also occur when the flame is turned off automatically in
the Extralow® mode of operation.
