Connecting to the Device

The following describes the various methods for accessing the ROS console and Web interfaces on the device.
For more detailed instructions, refer to the ROS User Guide for the RS910.
Serial Console and Management Ports
Connect a PC or terminal directly to the serial console or management ports to access the boot-time control and
ROS interfaces. The serial console port provides access to ROS's console interface, while the management port
provides access to ROS's console and Web interfaces.
IMPORTANT!
The serial console and management (MGMT) ports are intended to be used only as temporary
connections during initial configuration or troubleshooting.
The serial console port implements RS232 DCE (Data Communication Equipment) on a DB9 connector. The
following is the pin-out for the port:

The management port is a 10/100/1000Base-T copper Ethernet port with an RJ45 connector. The following is the
