Memory channels are organized as follows:
• channel A: memory sockets 1 and 3
• channel B: memory sockets 2 and 4
The following table shows the memory populations and operating frequencies for the supported
configurations.

NOTE: Memory configurations that fail to observe these guidelines can prevent your system from
booting, hanging during memory configuration, or operating with reduced memory
NOTE: This system supports only UDIMMs.
The following are the recommended guidelines for best performance:
• A maximum of two UDIMMs can be populated in a channel.
• Populate all sockets with white release tabs first, and then black.
• Populate the sockets by highest rank count in the following order — first in sockets with white release
levers, and then black.
