Troubleshooting; Technical Data - THOMSON ROC8209 Operating Instruction

a. Press and hold Setup key until CODE SETUP is displayed (takes approximately 2–3 seconds).
b. Release Setup key.
c. Navigate to LERNEN SETUP by pressing the Setup key 3 times. Press and release Okay key.
d. LERNEN MODUS is displayed. Press and release Okay key.
e. QUELLEN-TASTE is displayed. Press and release the desired Mode key (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).
f. LERNEN: TASTE is displayed. Press and release the LCD remote key to be taught with original remote code.
g. LORIG.-FB- TASTE is displayed. Press and hold original remote key until the FERTIG or LERNEN FEHL. screens
have been displayed (see Tips on Learning) followed by the LERNEN MEHR? screen (this process can take up to
2 or 3 seconds to complete). Release the original remote key.
i. LERNEN MEHR? screen is still displayed. To learn more keys, press and release the Okay key and repeat from
step "f". To exit at this point, press and release the Exit key.
j. WARTEN... will be displayed briefly and the remote will exit Setup and return to normal operation.
To Clear all stored Learned Commands under a Mode:
a. Press and hold Setup key until CODE SETUP is displayed (takes approximately 2–3 seconds).
b. Release Setup key.
c. Navigate to LERNEN SETUP. Press and release Okay key. LERNEN MODUS is displayed.
d. Navigate to LOESCHEN MODUS. Press and release Okay key.
e. QUELLEN TASTE is displayed. Press and release the desired Mode key (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).
f. LOESCHEN BEST. is displayed. Press and release Okay key.
g. WARTEN... will be displayed briefly and the remote will exit Setup and return to normal operation.
To Clear all stored Learned Commands (recommended on first time Learning):
a. Press and hold Setup key until CODE SETUP is displayed (takes approximately 2–3 seconds).
b. Release Setup key.
c. Navigate to LERNEN SETUP. Press and release Okay key. LERNEN MODUS is displayed.
d. Navigate to LOESCHEN ALLES. Press and release Okay key.
e. LOESCHEN BEST. is displayed. Press and release Okay key.
f. WARTEN... will be displayed briefly, then FERTIG and the remote will exit Setup and return to normal operation
Placing all devices on standby (ALLES-AUS-Feature)
Press the Power key twice in less than one second, keeping it held down the
second time. " ALLES AUS " is display on the screen and all the devices go
on standby one after the other (the devices which were already on Standby
may turn on).
When the remote control is in TV, SAT or Cable mode, the 6 transport keys (i.e. PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, FF, REWIND,
and REC) can still control your VCR or DVD (the last VCR or DVD programmed Mode you used), no need to press
the DVD or VCR mode key. This feature will not operate if the programmed TV, SAT or Cable code has its own VCR
transport key control e.g. a TV Combo, SAT/PVR, etc.
The LCD display remains dark
• Check whether the batteries of the remote control are correctly inserted and whether the polarity + / - matches
with the marks.
• If the batteries are too low, replace them by new ones.
The remote control does not work
• Check that you have selected the correct mode on your remote control
• Check whether your devices are correctly connected and switched on.
Several device codes are listed under the brand of my device.
How can I determine the right device code?
• To determine the right device code for your device, try the codes successively until most of the functions of the
device are working properly.
The devices only respond to a few instructions of the remote control.
• Test further codes until the devices respond appropriately to the commands.
• If in some exceptional cases neither a manual code entry nor the automatic code search are successful, your
device may be incompatible with your universal remote control. In that case try to learn the functions from your
original remote (see paragraph Learning function).
