Selecting the ISO sensitivity [ISO]

Abbreviation for the International Organization
for Standardization. ISO standards specify the
sensitivity for digital cameras and fi lm, thus
codes such as "ISO 100" are used to represent
sensitivity.
In the ISO setting, although smaller values
result in less sensitivity, sharp images can be
taken under fully lit conditions. Larger values
result in higher sensitivity, and images can
be taken at fast shutter speeds even under
low light conditions. However, high sensitivity
introduces noise into the resulting picture,
which may give it a grainy appearance.

Application
The camera automatically adjusts
the white balance according to the
shooting conditions.
For shooting outdoors under a clear
sky

Application
The camera automatically adjusts the
sensitivity according to the shooting
conditions.
The camera uses a higher sensitivity
compared to [AUTO] to minimize blur
caused by a moving subject or by
camera shake.
Set ISO sensitivity to a numerical
value.
Shooting pictures sequentially while the
shutter button is held down [DRIVE]

The shooting speed varies depending on the settings

for [A IMAGE QUALITY] (p. 25).
When set to [j], the fl ash (p.19) cannot
be set to [REDEYE]. In addition, when set to
[c], the fl ash is limited to either # (FILL IN)
or $ (FLASH OFF). When set to [d], the
fl ash is fi xed to $ (FLASH OFF).
When set to [c] or [d], [IMAGE SIZE] is
limited to [I] or lower, and [ISO] is fi xed to
[AUTO]. Moreover, [FINE ZOOM] (p. 27) and
[DIGITAL ZOOM] (p. 27) are not available.

When set to [j], [c], or [d], [R] (sound
recording) (p. 28) is not available.
DRIVE
Application
One frame is shot each time the
shutter button is pressed.
Take sequential shots using the
focus, brightness (exposure) and
white balance set in the fi rst frame.
The camera takes sequential shots at
a faster speed than in [j].
The camera takes sequential shots at
approximately 11 frames/sec.
