escapewirefortheelectriccurrent.
Thisappliance is equippedwitha
powercordhavinga grounding
wirewitha grounding plug.The
plugmustbe plugged intoanoutlet
thatis properlyinstalledand

third (ground) prong from
the power cord.
Use of AdapterPlugs
Usagesituationswhere

disconnectedinfrequently.
Because ofpotential s afetyhazards
undercertainconditions, w e
stronglyrecommendagainstthe
use of'an adapter plug.
However,
if youstillelecttousean adapter,
wherelocalcodespermit,a
TEMPORARY CONNECTION
maybemadetoaproperlygrounded
two-prong wallreceptacle bythe
useofa UL listedadapter(Fig.2)
whichis available at mostlocal
hardwarestores.

BEFOREUSE
Thelargerslotin theadaptermust
be alignedwiththelargerslotinthe
wallreceptacleto provideproper
polarityinthe connectionofthe
powercord.
Caution:
Attachingthe adapter
groundterminalto the wall
receptaclecoverscrewdoesnot
groundthe
appliance
unlessthe
coverscrewis metal,andnot
insulated,andthewallreceptacle
is groundedthroughthe house
wiring.Youshouldhavethecircuit
checkedbya qualifiedelectrician
to makesure thereceptacleis
properlygrounded.

Use of ExtensionCords
Becauseofpotentialsafetyhazards
undercertainconditions westrongly
recommend againsttheuse of an
extension cord. However, i f it is
necessaryto useanextensioncord,
useonlya 3-wireextensioncord
thathasa 3-bladegroundingplug,
anda 3-slotreceptaclethatwill
accepttheplugontheappliance.
Themarkedratingofthe extension
cordshallbe equalto or greater
thantheelectricalratingofthe
appliance(15amperes).
Suchextensioncordsare obtainable
throughGeneralElectricservice.
If you do use an extension cord
with your microwave-convection
oven,
theinteriorlightmayflicker
andtheblowersoundmayvary
whenovenis in use. Cookand
defrosttimesmaybe longeras well.
