Drain the clutch fluid from the hydraulic system
(page 9-4).
Disconnect the clutch hose from the slave cylinder
by removing the oil bolt and sealing
washers.
CAUTION:
Avoid spilling clutch fluid
on
painted, plastic,
or
rubber parts. Place
a
rag over these parts whenev-
er
the system is serviced.
Remove the mounting bolts and slave cylinder.
Remove the gasket and dowel pins.
Remove the piston from the slave cylinder. If piston
removal is hard, place a shop towel over the piston,
position the cylinder body with the piston down
and apply small squirts of air pressure to the fluid
inlet.

Do not use high pressure air or bring the nozzle
too close
to
the inlet.
Remove the spring, piston seal and oil seal from
the piston.
INSPECTION
Check the piston spring for weakness or damage.
Check the slave cylinder and piston for scoring or
damage.
