Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

When replacing the base enclosure, be sure to remove the following components from the
Bluetooth module and cable (see
Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page
RJ-11 jack assembly (see RJ-11 jack cable on page
Close the computer.
Turn the computer upside down, with the front toward you.
Remove the four rubber screw covers (1). The rubber screw covers are included in the Rubber Kit,
spare part number 642768-001.
Remove the eight Torx PM2.5×8.0 screws (2) that secure the base enclosure to the computer.
