better protect the occupants in the following
hazardous situations automatically.

PRE-SAFE takes preventive measures in
emergency braking situations, e.g. if the

Brake Assist System (BAS) (
activated
or when
BAS Plus ( Y page 66) or the PRE-SAFE
Brake ( Y page 72) is strongly intervening
critical dynamic driving situations, e.g.

when the vehicle is understeering or
oversteering because it has exceeded its
physical limitations or in case of evasive
steering maneuvers at speeds above
approximately 85 mph (140 km/h)
When you are driving faster than 20 mph

(30 km/h), PRE-SAFE
measures in such situations:
