In an emergency, we recommend that you call the freephone number found in the Warranty
Booklet.You can also go to the www.fiat.com website to find your nearest Fiat Dealership.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Contact to a Fiat Dealership immediately if
instrument panel warning light
constantly.

JUMP STARTING

If the battery is flat, the engine may be started using
an auxiliary battery with the same capacity or a
little higher than the flat one.
It is advisable to contact a Fiat Dealership to
check/replace the battery.
WARNING
This procedure must be performed by
expert personnel because incorrect
actions could cause electrical discharge of
considerable intensity. Furthermore, battery
fluid is poisonous and corrosive: avoid contact
with skin and eyes. Keep naked flames and
lighted cigarettes away from the battery and do
not cause sparks.
IN AN EMERGENCY
Proceed as follows to start the car:
❒ raise the flap A fig. 166 to gain access to the
positive battery terminal.

❒ connect the positive terminals (sign + near the
terminal) of the two batteries with a jump lead;
❒ use a second cable to connect the negative
terminal (–) of the auxiliary battery to the earth
point as shown in fig. 167;
❒ start the engine;
❒ when the engine has been started, remove the
leads reversing the order above.
