7. Reverse the PTT motor leads between
the battery terminals when the tilt ram is
fully extended, and then reverse them
again when it is fully compressed.
NOTE:
• Repeat this procedure so that the tilt ram
goes up and down four to five times.
• The sound of the power trim and tilt motor
will change when the tilt ram is fully
extended.
8. Check the fluid level again when the tilt
ram is fully extended. Add sufficient fluid,
if necessary, and then repeat step 7.
NOTE:
Repeat this procedure until the fluid remains
at the correct level.
Bleeding the power trim and tilt
(built-in)
1. Loosen the manual valve by turning it
counterclockwise until it cannot be turned
further.
2. Fully tilt the outboard motor up, and then
release it and let it lower by its own

3. Tighten the manual valve by turning it

After tilting up the outboard motor, be

Otherwise, the outboard motor could sud-
denly lower if the power trim and tilt unit
should lose fluid pressure.
