visually.
Cover pan with a lid. Turn the downdraft fan OFF until the
water begins to boil.
Use the illustrations below to determine if your burner
flames are normal. If burner flames took like A, call for
service. Normal burner flames should book like B or C,
depending on the type of gas you use. With LP gas, some
yellow tipping on outer cones is normal.

Use a small sewing needle or paper clip to unplug.
Remove knob by pulling it straight off the stem and check
the bottom of the knob for any buildup of soil.
This is a typical electrical switching noise. This is normal.
If cooktop is connected to LP gas, contact the person who
installed your cooktop or made the conversion.

A "cold" burner ignited in the HI setting may have some
excessive noise

minutes.
