HPTerm Emulation
HPTerm is the default terminal emulation used by HP9000 and HP3000 console ports.
What Are Function Keys?
The eight function keys (F1 – F8) perform the actions indicated by the eight corresponding labels
displayed at the bottom of the screen. They offer the convenience of local editing and configuration
changes.
UPPERCASE labels perform the indicated action.
lowercase labels lead to other label sets, allowing you to cycle through all the actions available.
System Labels
The F10 key displays the local function labels.

Defines how to print information to a printer connected to a terminal.

Selects the operating modes.

Selects one or more video enhancements.

Using the Terminal with a Printer
This section describes how to print a hardcopy of what is on the terminal screen.
Select the printer as the "to" device:
Press F10, then press F1
You can then print data that is currently on the screen, using the device control function or
Shift+Print Screen. You can also select device modes to use data logging.
Data Logging
Data logging causes data entered from the keyboard or received from the host computer to be sent
automatically to a device (a printer, for example).
To activate data logging:
Press then F4

LOG TOP The top line of data in display memory is sent to the printer as it rolls off the top of memory.
LOG BOTTOM When the cursor moves to a new line, the previous line prints on the printer.
Other Commands
The following commands are accomplished differently than past HP terminals due to the PC type
keyboard:
Clear display -
Clear line -
Hit F11.
