power from being switchedon accidentally.Whenthe service
disconnectingmeans cannot be locked,securelyfasten a

C. Do not usethis unit with any solid-statespeedcontrol device.
D. If usinga cord connectionkit,useonlywith range hood cord-
connectionkit JXHC1that has been investigatedand found
acceptablefor usewith this modelrange hood.
E. Thisunit must be grounded.

A. SMOTHER F LAMES with a close-fittinglid,cookiesheet or metal
tray,then turn off the burner.BECAREFUL TOPREVENT BURNS.
If the flamesdo not go out immediately,EVACUATE ANDCALL
THEFIRE DEPARTMENT.
B. NEVER PICK UPA FLAMING PAN-You may be burned.
C. DONOTUSE WATER, includingwet dishclothsor towels-a violent
steam explosionwill result.
D. Usean extinguisherONLY if:
1. You knowyou havea ClassABCextinguisher, a nd you already
know how to operate it.
2. Thefire issmall and containedin the area where it started.
3. Thefiredepartment is being called.
4. Youcan fight the fire with your back to an exit.

causesmokingand greasyspilloversthat may ignite.Heat oils
slowlyon low or medium settings.
B. Alwaysturn hood ONwhen cooking on high heator when
flamb_ingfood (i.e.CrepesSuzette, C herries Jubilee,Peppercorn
BeefFlamb_).
C. Cleanventilatingfans frequently.Greaseshouldnot be allowedto
accumulateon fan or filter.
D. Useproper pan size.Alwaysusecookwareappropriatefor the
sizeof the surfaceelement.

to prevent back drafting.Followthe heating equipment
manufacturer'sguidelineand safety standardssuch as
those publishedbythe NationalFireProtectionAssociation
(NFPA), the AmericanSocietyfor Heating,Refrigerationand Air
ConditioningEngineers (ASHRAE)and the localcodeauthorities.
When applicable,installany makeup (replacement) a ir system

C. Whencutting or drilling into wall or ceiling,do not damage
electricalwiring and other hidden utilities.
