7. Replacing the temperature sensor

1. Shut off the water supply to the
machine and empty the water
heater tank.
2. Remove the upper casings and front.
3. Pull out the temperature sensor
(1, figure 38) from its tube on the
bottom side of the hot water tank.
4. Remove any clips and loosen the
temperature sensor's connection
(J18, figure 39) from the TSM card.
5. Mount the new temperature sensor
in reverse order.

Prior to beginning service, the
machine's plug must always
be removed from the wall
socket.
Note that the temperature sen-
sor must be mounted to the
full length of the temperature
sensor's tube.
