Power Sources
This unitoperatesona suppliedACadaptor,
car adaptor, o r a rechargeable b atterypack.
• Makesurethat the inputvoltageof the AC
adaptoris in linewith the localvoltage.
Otherwise, t he ACadaptorand unit maybe
damaged.
• Donottouchthe ACadaptorwith wet
handsto preventelectricshock.
• Whenconnecting with carpower(cigarette
lighter)adaptor, b e surethe inputvoltageof
the adaptoris identicalwith carvoltage.
• UnplugtheACadaptorfrom the outlet or
remove the batterypackwhenthe unit is
not usedfor long periods of time.
• Holdthe plugto disconnect t heACadaptor.
Donot pull the powercord.
OnPlacement
Avoidplacingthe unit in the following places.
• Underdirect sunlightor neara source of
heatsuchas a heater.
• Neverleavethe unitin a closedautomobile,
on a dashboard or an unstableshelf.Excess
heatmaydeformthe cabinor causemal-
function.
• Whereit is verydustyor sandy.
• Wet or humidplaces,suchas bathroom.
• Nearsources of strongmagnetism, suchas
a television,speaker, or magnet.
• Wherethereis a lot of movement o r vibra-
tion, suchas on a cardashboard or an
unstableshelf.
• Whereit is extremely hotor cold.
• Wherethe unit is exposed to rainor water.
• UnplugtheACadaptorto cut the powerif
liquid or objectsgetinsidethe unit.
• Take carenotto dropthe unit or subjectit to
strongshocks, whichmaycause malfunction.
Note:Whenthe playeris in usefor a long
periodof time,the surfacewill be heat-
ed.Thisis normal.
Maintenance
• Donottouchthe lens!
• If the playeris broughtdirectlyfrom a cold
to a warm location,or is placedin a very
damproom,moisturemaycondense onthe
lensinsidethe player. If this occurs, t he
playerwill not operatenormally.Leave the
poweronfor aboutonehourwith no discin
thedisc tray until normalplayback is
possible.
• Avoiddust.Keepthedisctray closedafter
use.If thereis dust onthe lens,usea
cleaningdiscto clean.
Handlingdiscs
• Donot attachpaperor tapeto the disc.
• Keepthe discawayfrom directsunlightor
heatsources.
• Storethe discin a disccaseafter playback.
• Toclean,wipe the discoutwardsfrom the
centerwith a soft, lint-freecleancloth.
ForSafety
• Donot disassemble t he unitfor laserrays
are dangerous t o eyes.
Anyserviceshouldbe donebyqualified
servicepersonnel.
