This setting is only required if you are using the recorder's
COAXIAL/OPTICAL OUT socket to connect other audio/video
device.
{ All }
{ PCM only }
This setting is only required if you are using the recorder's HDMI
OUT socket to connect your TV or other display device.
{ Auto }
{ Disable }
This setting is only required if you used the recorder's AUDIO
OUT L/R sockets to connect other audio/video device.
{ Stereo }
{ Surround }
This mode optimises playback of sound at low volume. High
volume outputs will be softened and low volume outputs are
brought upward to an audible level. This feature is only
applicable to DVD disc playback.
{ On }
{ Off }

– The connected device supports multi-
channel audio formats. The digital audio
format will be output as on disc.
– The connected device does not support
multi-channel formats. The recorder
converts multi-channel to PCM (Pulse Code
Modulation) format.
– Auto selection of the best supported audio
output through the HDMI connection.
– Disable HDMI audio output. In this case, an
alternative audio connection is required
from the recorder to your TV.
– The sound output through the left and right
audio channels. Use this setting when this
recorder is connected to a TV or Stereo
system.
– The connected audio/video device is
compatible with Dolby Surround. Dolby
Digital and MPEG-2 multi-channel are mixed
to a compatible two-channel output signal.
– Turn on night mode.
– Turn off night mode. Select this to enjoy the
surround sound with its full dynamic range.
