Problem
Mobile computer cannot find
any Bluetooth devices nearby.
(Also see the problem, "Mobile
computer does not see third-
party Bluetooth devices when
using coexistence" below.)
Mobile computer keeps
powering down to protect
memory contents.
When trying to connect a
Bluetooth phone and mobile
computer, the phone thinks a
different mobile computer (that
I previously paired with the
phone) is used.
Can't make my Ericsson R520
phone discoverable.
Mobile computer does not see
third-party Bluetooth devices
when using coexistence. (Also
see the problem, "Mobile
computer cannot find any
Bluetooth devices nearby"
above.)
There is a delay in the
Bluetooth stack re-initializing
during a resume from suspend.
Cause
Too far from other Bluetooth devices. Move closer to the other Bluetooth device(s),
The Bluetooth device(s) nearby are not
turned on.
The Bluetooth device(s) are not in
discoverable mode.
The mobile computer's battery is low. Recharge the battery.
The Bluetooth radio is powered on for
a long time. This mode requires
battery power and should be powered
off whenever not needed.
The phone remembers the name and
address of the mobile computer it last
paired with via the Bluetooth radio.
You attempted to bond with the
phone, and when the phone presented
a "pairing query," you entered No.
This prevents the phone from being
discoverable until it is reset.
Third-party Bluetooth radios can not
participate as slaves in coexistence
mode unless these devices have
adjusted their Page or Inquiry Scan
Windows from 11.25msec to
150msec.
This is the normal behavior.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Solution
within a range of 10 meters.
Turn on the Bluetooth device(s) you wish to find.
Set the Bluetooth device(s) to discoverable
mode. If needed, refer to the device's user
documentation for help.
Using the SetDeviceState() API (refer to the
WinCE Help file for Symbol Terminals), set the
Bluetooth to D4 power state.
Manually delete the pairing device and name
from the phone. Refer to the phone's user
documentation for instructions.
Reset the phone by removing its battery.
To adjust these devices' Page or Inquiry Scan
Windows from 11.25 msec to 150 msec, use the
HCI commands: Write_Page_Scan_Activity and
Write_Inquiry_Scan_Activity.
No solution required.
