All Glide commodes have the option for a Bed Pan Carrier to be fitted.
To operate
By holding the handle at the rear of carrier, bed pan can be slid in or out on
the slide mechanism under the commode seat.

ENVIRONMENT PRECAUTIONS

1. Ensure that you have an attendant with you when accessing flo or thresholds (shower recesses).
2. Position commode to ensure that all wheels contact the floor.
3. Ensure that castor brakes are applied ( GL15 & GL25) or wheel brakes applied ( GL20, GL30 & GL35) before
commencing showering or toileting.
4. Unstable users may need to fit a posture restraint. See your health professional for advice.
5. Care should be taken when moving commode on wet soapy surfaces.
6. Make sure all shower equipment is clear of commode wheels before attempting to mov e commode.
7. Ensure that your toilet area has enough rear space to accommodate custom backrest angles.
8. All shower and toilet modification should meet AS1428.2
9. If there is a need for a lap type posture restraining belt to be fitted to the Commode Chair we rec ommend that you
contact your nearest agent or Glide Rehabilitation Products direct for correct fitting procedures.
10. Your commode is suitable for wet areas but not pools.

TRANSFERRING TO AND FROM YOUR CHAIR

The Glide Rehabilitation Products C ommode Chair is designed in such a way that transferring in and out can be done with a
minimum of fuss.
1. Armrests on all our commodes are of the Flip Up type, allowing easy lateral movement from either side of chair or for
the fitting of a patient hoist sli ng.
2. If occupant is ambulant, or able to do standing transfers, removing swing away footplates or retracting sliding
footrest, will allow better placement of feet when standing or conversely, closer access to seat when transferring into
chair. Where possible have someone assist you during the transfer.
3. You will need to learn safe transfer techniques from your health professional.
4. Always have chair as close as possible to chair that you are transferring to.
5. Ensure that the front castors are facing forward whe n transferring.
6. Ensure that your commode chair brakes are applied.
7. Never reach or lean when moving your weight sideways or forward on chair. Doing so affects the centre of balance
of your chair and a fall or tip over may occur . REACHING OR LEANING IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
8. Ensure that Button Locks on backrest and removable seat are locked properly ( GL25 & GL30 Model Commodes )
before transferring into commode.
All Glide commodes have the option of having a
backrest extension fitted. The size will be
determined at time of specification by yourself
or your health professional.
To operate
Locate backrest extension sockets.
These are found on the top and inside
of commode backrest bars.
Place backrest extension into extension
sockets. WARNING: Do not use as a
push handle for moving commode.
Note : Essential for braking wheels.
