Remedy
Proto-Sound2.0volumeis settoo high. Turnthe
volume controlknob onthebottom ofthe chassis
counter-clockwise to reduce thevolume.
V olumeissettoolow,adjustvolumecontrolknob
on t h e b ottom ofthechassisclockwiseto increase
the volume orcheckconnectortospeaker.
Remedy
Check tobesurethebatteryisinstalledandfully
charged. Seethe"Self-ChargingBattery Back-
Up" section.
The battery maybe dead o r n e edtobecharged.

Proto-Sound2.0is designed tocontinue t o sound
for a fewsecondsafterpowertothetrack has
beenshutofftoallowfora morerealistic shut-
down.
Remedy
Proto-Sound 2 .0 hasabuilt-inrandomnumber
generatorthatrandomly selectseachsoundclipto
play. Becausethere a re a limited number o f
sound clips available in e a c h FYS sequence,it is
probable that some ofthese sound clipswillbe
repeatedfromtime to time.
SothatFYSeffectscanbe asrealisticas possible,
Proto-Sound 2 .0 disables the reversingunit
wheneverFYSisenabled. Thiswaythe engine
remainsstillatits stopas the operatorcycles
throughthe FYS sequences.
FYS isprogrammed tostartringingthebelland
then toput theengineinmotionatthatpoint.
After a pproximately 15 ringsofthebell,itwill
automatically turnoff.
BecauseFYSmustcontrolvariouseffectsineach
sequence, Proto-Sound2.0 takescontrol ofthese
sound effects until youexitFYS.
Each F YS clipmustplayforacertainamountof
timebefore FYSwilladvancetothenext stepin
the FYScycle. Wait at l e a s t 30 seconds i n e ach
FYS sound clipbeforepressing the Direction
button.
