Chapter 1 Hardware Installation • Make sure the position of the UNS does not make the rack unstable or top-heavy. Take all necessary precautions to anchor the rack securely before installing the unit. 1.2.2 Separate the Slide Rails A slide rail consists of an inner rail and an outer rail. Release the lock (1) and slide out out the inner rail completely to separate the rails.

Chapter 1 Hardware Installation Screw the outer rail onto the side of the rack using the M6 screws and nuts. Repeat for the other side of the rack. 1.2.5 Insert the UNS into the Rack It is recommended that two people insert the UNS (with inner railings attached) into the rack. The inner rail (attached to the UNS) has two locks.
Chapter 1 Hardware Installation Use the screws to fasten the inner rail to the rack. Note: To remove the UNS from the rack, use the outer lock on the inner rail. 1.3 Insert a Hard Drive 1.3.1 Drive Tray Slot Numbering The drive trays (with hard drive) can be installed into any slot.

Chapter 1 Hardware Installation Note: Make sure the screws are fastened tightly as protruding screws will impede insertion of the hard drive tray into the UNS. Put the hard drive tray back into the UNS by sliding it gently all the way in, and then closing the front.

The default login name and password is ‘admin’ and ‘1234’. Use the menus on the left to configure the UNS. See the User’s Guide or the web help to find more information on these screens.
