Connecting AV Equipment

Connecting Composite Video Signal (RCA)

Connect the Composite signal terminal on
the TV to the output of AV equipment via
an Composite video cable (RCA
connector) as illustrated.
The DV2680/DV3070/DV3080 provides
two sets of Composite video inputs (AV1 &
AV2).
Composite video input is the most commonly used signal input. However, this type of input also
provides a less optimal image quality. Many video sources can only output Composite video sig-
nals, for example, VCRs and camcorders. Other video sources, such as laser disc players, actu-
ally produce slightly better results when using Composite video.

Connecting S-Video Signal

Connect your AV equipment to the
television's S-VIDEO terminal using an S-
video cable. The DV2680/DV3070/DV3080
provides two S-video inputs (AV1 & AV2).
Of all the signal types, S-video provides the second-best quality, and it is far superior to Com-
posite video signals. Because of this, when using satellite receivers, high-quality VCRs and DVD
players (without Composite video output) as sources, S-video will provide a clearer, sharper sig-
nal.
