3.0 Safety Devices

3.1
Operation of Safety Devices
1. Your Potterton Promax 15 HE or 24 HE is fitted
with safety devices which shut down the
appliance if:
a) the system overheats.
b) the condensate drain is blocked.
c) there is no gas to the boiler.
2. If your radiators and hot water are both cold
despite the programmer and room thermostat
being on, then one of these safety devices may
have operated and the boiler may need resetting.
NOTE: In the case of persistent operation of
the devices, turn off the boiler and consult your
service engineer as an appliance or system
fault is indicated.
3.2
Resetting
1. Allow the boiler to cool if hot.
2. Check that the gas supply to the appliance has
not been inadvertantly turned off.
3. Check the condensate drain outlet has not
been blocked.
WARNING: The condensate outlet must not be
blocked or modified.
4. Press the boiler on/off switch off (Fig. 2).
5. Wait 10 seconds.
6. Press the boiler on/off switch on (Fig. 2) and
the boiler will fire up automatically.
