Battery charging and use
When not in use, place the headset in the base unit, ensuring the link-up indicator (1b)
is not lit, to charge the battery. If the link-up indicator is lit after placing the headset,
remove the headset from the base unit and place it in the base again.
If battery charge is too low, a beep will be heard in the headset every 20 seconds.
Note: The battery charging indicator (1d) on the base unit will fl ash continuously during
charging and be lit when the battery is fully charged.
Assembly verifi cation
Verify that the assembling of the product has been completed cor-
rectly. After removing the headset from the base unit, the green
link-up indicator (1b) on the front of the base unit will light and the
on-line indicator on the headset will fl ash.
If the green link-up indicator does not light, check the wiring con-
nections on the base unit and ensure that the power adapter is con-
nected. If the on-line indicator on the headset does not fl ash con-
tinuously, replace the headset in the base unit and remove it again.

mode.

fl ash once every 10 seconds.

Switchable remote handset lifter set up for telephones listed
on the set-up card (for Europe only)
Some desk telephones (PBX), are equipped with a built-in electronic handset lifter, and
some of these can be set to work with your GN 9120. This gives you the additional con-
venience of answering and ending calls even while away from your desk, without using
the GN 1000 Remote Handset Lifter (RHL).
In order to set up a desk telephone that has a built-in electronic handset lifting feature,
you must fi rst determine the type of interface your desk telephone uses. Consult your
telephone's user manual for clarifi cation. The GN 9120 works with the following 3 lifting
device interfaces:
• The RHL interface (works with the GN 1000 RHL)
• The DHSG interface (for example, with Siemens and Elmeg desk telephones)
• The AEI interface (for example, with Tenovis desk telephones)
