Fuel Gauge and Sending Unit

The fuel tank has an electric sending unit that sends
fuel level information to a fuel gauge located at the
helm station. The fuel level sending unit is manufac-
tured by ISSPRO. The sending unit is fully electronic
and compatible with Mercury Marine's SmartCraft
gauge system. The sending unit generates a fuel level
signal ranging between 240 ohms (empty) and 33
ohms (full).
The fuel gauge powers up when the outboard engine
main ignition key switch is turned to the ON position.
The fuel gauge displays the approximate fuel level in
the fuel tank. The correlation between the gauge
reading and fuel load is approximately linear from
FULL to ¼ FULL.

the boat is at rest and level.
