The LED on the sensor (Figure 2.1) indicates the status of the sensor as follows:

Silence trouble chirp - Press to silence a trouble chirp. The trouble chirp resumes after
24 hours if the trouble condition is not corrected.
Flashing – Flashes every 8 sec to indicate normal operation.
On – Detects smoke, sending an alarm.
Off – Trouble. Maintenance is required.
