15 RecommenDeD TIGHTenInG ToRQUeS.

All bolted connections of the bicycle components have to be tightened carefully and checked regularly to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the
bicycle. This is best done with a torque wrench that disengages at the desired tightening torque or a click-type torque wrench.
Tighten carefully by approaching the prescribed maximum torque in small steps (0.5 Nm increments) whilst constantly checking the proper fit of the
component. Never exceed the maximum tightening torque indicated by the manufacturer! Where no maximum tightening torque is given start with 2
Nm. Observe the prescribed limit values. Follow the included instructions of the component manufacturers.
Some components have the maximum permissible tightening torque printed on them. Use a torque wrench and never exceed the maxi-
mum tightening torque! You will find the prescribed values in the present chapter, directly on the components and/or in the manuals of the
component manufacturers.
