  • Page 13 INSTALLING THE SIM CARD Your SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card contains a computer chip that keeps track of your phone number, the services included in your subscription and your phonebook information. To install the SIM card: Make sure the phone is switched off. If, necessary, switch off the phone by holding down the End/Power key until the Power off message appears.
  • Page 14 CHARGING THE BATTERY Your phone comes with a battery, and a travel charger. You can also use the USB data cable to charge your phone via a computer. For your own safety you should use only approved batteries and chargers for this phone. Note: Ensure that you fully charge the battery before using your phone for the first time.

  • Page 17 MAKING A CALL From the idle screen, enter the phone number and press the [Send] Key. To end the call, press the [End] key or close the phone. RETRIEVING A PHONE NUMBER Use [Name] from the Idle Screen: press the right soft key [Name] from the idle screen and highlight a name using the navigation keys or enter the name you want to search for.
  • Page 18 Choose the number you wish to assign the speed dial for and press the left soft key [Add]. Now when you press and hold that number key, the assigned phone number will be called. MAKING A CALL FROM A SMS/MMS MESSAGE When viewing a message, press the left soft key [Option] and select [Use Number].
  • Page 19 RECEIVING A CALL When your phone rings and/or vibrates, open the phone to answer. To end the call, press the [End] key or close the phone. THE PHONEBOOK You can use the Phone Book to store names and phone numbers to the phone’s memory or to a SIM card. access the Phone Book menu, from the idle screen, press the left soft key [Menu] and select [Phonebook].
  • Page 20 Quick Search Allows you to search the Phonebook data by name. Simply type the alphabet and the results will be displayed dynamically. From this list, you can also View, Edit, Delete, Copy, Move, Duplicate the entry as well as sending an SMS, MMS and Vcard to the number.

  • Page 22 Settings Allows you to view and edit the following Phonebook settings:  Memory Status: see how many names/numbers are stored in the Phonebook and the space remaining.  Preferred Storage: select SIM or Phone.  Fields: assign fields to your Phonebook entries. ...
  • Page 23 Missed Calls Display the most recently missed calls. In the missed calls list, you can view details of the time and date of a call by pressing left soft key [Ok]. To call the number press the [Send] key or alternatively Delete, Save to Phonebook or Edit the entry.
  • Page 24 Call Time Allows you to check the duration of your last call, the total duration of outgoing calls and of calls received. During a call the duration of the call is also shown in the display. Note: The actual time invoiced for calls by your service provider may vary from the time displayed.
  • Page 25 Ends the current call New Call Allows you to make a second call during calling by keying in the second phone number. Phone Book Allows you to retrieve a number using the [Phonebook] option and the call it by pressing the [Send] key. The first call is automatically put on hold.

  • Page 27 MESSAGES The Messages menu allows you to send and receive text messages (SMS), multimedia messages (MMS), voice mail and cell broadcast messages. To access the Messages menu, from the idle screen, press the left soft key [Menu] and select [Messages]. Note: Before you start, make sure the number of your service centre is set.
  • Page 28  Send to Many: send to multiple recipients. Select [Edit List] to add up to 10 recipient(s)  Send by Group: sends to a Caller Group. Input the phone number directly or search the Phone Book by pressing the left soft key [Search]. A Success or Fail message will be displayed on the screen for all recipients.
  • Page 29 The message will display the sender’s phone number or name (if stored in the Phonebook). Choose the [Ok] soft key to view the message contents. You can then select one of the following options:  Reply: reply to the sender. ...
  • Page 30 Template Allows you to store up to 10 frequently used messages as message templates, such as “How are You?”. To use the template, select [Ok] option and then [Write Message]. Alternatively, select [Edit] to change or [Erase] to delete the template.
  • Page 31 Writing a Message Allows you to write a message and insert an Image, Sound, or Attachment. Select the [MMS] menu and choose [Write Message]. Compose a message. You can add either phone numbers or email addresses to the following fields: [To], [CC], [BCC].
  • Page 32 Templates Allows you to edit MMS templates and use the templates by selecting the left soft key [Options]. Message Settings Allows you to set up MMS related parameters for sending and retrieving the MMS messages. T9 TEXT INPUT T9 Text Input uses a built in dictionary to recognise commonly used words for each sequence of key presses.

VOICE MAIL If your subscription includes an answering service, callers can leave you a voice mail message when you cannot answer a call. These will be displayed in the idle screen and can be accessed by selecting [Voice Mail] from the [Messages] menu.

    Taking and Saving a Photo Choose [Camera] option from the [Multimedia] menu and a preview will be displayed on the screen. You can take a picture by pressing the centre navigation key. To save the picture, select the left soft key [Save], edit the picture name and press the left soft key [Option] and select [Done].
