Updating the device using a file-based update

NOTE:
Before performing the following procedure, plug in the AC adapter for your device, if one has
been provided.
1.
Download the latest operating system restore image for your device.
a.
Go to http://www.hp.com/support, and follow the on-screen instructions to select your
country and your product.
b.
Follow the on-screen instructions to access your Android operating system software.
2.
Locate update.zip and copy it to a memory card.
3.
Turn off the device, and then insert the memory card containing the update.zip file.
4.
To power on the device, press and hold the volume down key and the power button.
5.
Select Apply update from SD.
6.
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process and reboot the device.

Resetting with the device powered off

If the device does not start normally, or if you do not remember the lock screen password, you can
reset the device without turning it on.
CAUTION:
uninstalled, but it may be possible to restore data in your email account. Back up all important files
with an external storage device or to the cloud using one of several commercially available solutions,
before resetting the device.

If a battery-powered device, disconnect the AC adapter from the device.
2.
With the device powered off, press and hold the volume up (+) button and the power button at
the same time.

When the system recovery menu appears, use the volume down (-) button to highlight Wipe
data/factory reset.
4.
Press the power button to select.
The screen displays Confirm wipe of all user data? This cannot be undone..
5.
Use the volume down (-) button to highlight Yes -- delete all user data.
6.
Press the power button to begin the reset.
A recovery system screen shows the reset process.
7.
When the screen displays the message Data wipe complete, highlight reboot system now, and
then press the power button to select.
The device reboots.
All data saved on your device is deleted when you perform a factory reset. All apps are
