ENGINE REMOVAL AND
REINSTALLATION

ENGINE REMOVAL

Before taking the engine out of the frame, thoroughly
clean the engine with a suitable cleaner and drain trans-
mission oil, etc. The procedure of engine removal is
sequentially explained in the following steps, and engine
reinstallation is effected by reversing the removal proce-
dure.
● Place an oil pan under the engine and remove the oil
filler cap and the oil drain plug to drain out transmis-
sion oil.
● Remove the seat and frame cover.
● Turn the fuel cock to OFF position.
● Remove the fuel hoses from the fuel cock and
remove the fuel tank by removing mounting bolts.
● Remove the muffler and exhaust pipe.
● Remove the air cleaner and air cleaner chamber.
