Placing Calls
When using your phone in another province and making a local
call, you only need to dial the 10-digit phone number, or in other
words, the area code + the 7-digit phone number. If 1 is dialed
before the 10-digit number, long distance charges will apply. When
making a long distance call, you need to dial 1 + the area code +
the 7-digit phone number.
Here is what you are charged when placing calls while in another
Canadian province:
• When placing local calls, only your regular per minute airtime
rate applies
e.g. If you visit Calgary and place a call to your friend in
Calgary you will only be charged airtime
• When placing calls to Canadian destinations airtime plus 25¢
per minute for long distance apply
e.g. If you visit Calgary and place a call to your friend in
Manitoba you will be charged airtime plus 25¢ per minute for
long distance
• When placing calls to U.S. destinations airtime plus 50¢ per
minute for long distance apply
e.g. If you visit Calgary and place a call to your friend in
Miami, Florida, you will be charged airtime plus 50¢ per
minute for long distance
Receiving Calls
All calls received while in another Canadian province are charged
airtime plus 25¢ per minute for long distance.
