er freezing
in
the reser voir and
on the
windshield.
Do
not use radiator anti-freeze solutio
n in
the
windshield-washing equipment.

HEATING AND VENT
The heating and
ventilating system
is designed to
provide hea
ted
fr
sh air
to the car interior at floor
level and to the win
dshield for de
misting and
defros ti ng.
A valve controlling the flow
of hot
wa
ter
through the
heater un
it
is
fit
ted at the
rear of the cylinder
head.
The
valve
is op
ened
by turning
in an anti-clockwise
direction when heating is required
or shut off by
tu
rning
clo
ckw
ise when
th
e
system is to be used for cool air
ventilation.

The air blower switch;
turn
the knob in the
direction
of
the arrow to
switch
on
the
motor. Switch off and pull
the
control out to close
the
air intake flap
The water
valve
on
the
cylinder block; turn
the
tap
in
the
direction
of
the
arrow
to shut off the flow
of
hot
water to the
heater
Air is drawn in through a
forward-facing intake,
and the ram
effect caused
by the car's motion will provide air fo
r
the
heater's requirements at speeds
above 25 m.p.h. (40
km.p.h.).
A
blower motor
is provided
for use at lower
speeds or when a
greater
quantity of
air is
required. The
blower is
switched
on
by turning the control marked
'H'
on the
fascia
in
a clockwise direction.
A shut-off valve is incorporated in the air
intake
to prevent fumes entering the
car in traffic and is closed by pulling out the knob
marked
'H'. T

switched
on
again
until the valve is returned to the open
position
