EXPOSURE COMPENSATION
The metering system in this camera
averages the scene's light values to
determine the exposure. This is an
accurate method for scenes with a
normal tones. Bright scenes, such as
snowy landscapes or sandy beaches,
can deceive the camera's meter and be
underexposed. Dark scenes can be
overexposed.
Compensated Exposure
The scene on the left was underexposed
because of the snow. By compensating
the exposure by +2Ev, the snow appears
white and fresh.
• This effect is most visible with slide film.
• Exposure compensation is not available
in M mode.
