Dangers from ac- Batteries contain acid which is harmful to the eyes and skin. During charging, id, gases and va- gases and vapours are released that can harm health and are highly explosive pours in certain circumstances. Installation If installing the charger on a firm base, use the drilling template enclosed in the packaging. NOTE! IP44 protection is only guaranteed for the upright position. Charging the battery Starting charging CAUTION! Danger of damage if attempting to charge a faulty battery or using the incorrect charging voltage. Before beginning charging, ensure that the battery to be charged is fully functional and the charging voltage of the device matches the battery voltage.

Operating modes for Acctiva series only Back-up mode The charger powers the vehicle electronics while the battery is being changed. Any stored vehicle-specific data, settings and codes are retained. NOTE! In back-up mode, reverse polarity protection is deactivated. Please refer to the "Setup menu" section for the relevant settings. For safety reasons, the selected back-up mode is not stored if disconnected from the mains - unlike the selected characteristic.
Remove charging terminals from vehicle pole terminals NOTE! Remove the mains plug to automatically restore the previously selected characteristic. After plugging in the mains plug again, wait until the LEDs go out. Buffering With buffering, vehicle functions (e.g. car radio, sliding roof, etc.) may be demonstrated during the charging process.
Setup menu General NOTE! The following section only applies to the standard control panel (LED ver- sion). In the Setup menu, select the characteristic type according to the battery to be charged, or the requirement shown in the accompanying characteristic data sheet (normal charging, back-up mode, reactivating deep-discharge batteries, buffering).
