1. Pressing any function key during PLAY stops the test mode.
2. After repeating the focus search for three times, then the gain is changed to the CR-RW gain value from the 4th focus search.
3. Do not keep pressing the FF button or the RWD button. If the FF button or the RWD button is kept pressed when the optical pickup stays in the
innermost track or in the outermost track, the gear can be damaged because the sled motor keeps rotating.
4. Align the alphabetical letters in the front of the MAIN C.B and the DECK C.B with the alphabetical letters printed on conductor side of the
boards.
<Tuner Adjustment>
1. VT Check (AM)
Conditions
Ÿ
Measuring equipment: Digital multimeter
Test point: TP4 (VT) and GND
1) Connect a digital multimeter between TP4 (VT) and GND.
2) Set the function switch to AM and tune the reception frequency to 1710 kHz.
3) Check that the digital multimeter reading is 9 V or less.
4) Tune the reception frequency to 530 kHz.
5) Check that the digital multimeter reading is 0.5 V.
2. VT Adjustment and Check (FM)
Conditions: Same as item 1.
1) Connect a digital multimeter between TP4 (VT) and GND.
2) Set the function switch to FM and tune the reception frequency to 108.0 MHz.
3) Adjust L907 (RED) until the digital multimeter reading is 7.0 +/- 0.1 V.
4) Tune the reception frequency to 87.5 MHz.
5) Check that the digital multimeter reading is 1.5 V or less.
3. Clock Check
Conditions
Ÿ
Measuring equipment: Frequency counter
Test point: TP1 (CLOCK), GND
1) Connect a frequency counter between TP1 (CLOCK) and GND.

2) Set the function switch to AM and tune the reception frequency to 1710kHz.
3) Check that the frequency counter reading is 2.160 kHz +/- 45 H.
