Before You Start Thank you for the purchase of your EdgeConnect 800PoE Managed Ethernet Switch. Please read this guide thoroughly as it describes the basic connectivity to the device. Refer to the User Manual for instructions on the physical installation and power requirements of the 800PoE Switch.

Instructions Step 1 − Connecting the Cables 1. If a fiber uplink is required then connect a Mini-GBIC SFP into the right most port in front of the switch show in area “B”. Keep in mind that port 8 shown in area “B” will not be operational once the fiber connector has been installed and is in use.

Step 2 − Configuring the EdgeConnect 1. The EdgeConnect 800PoE comes preconfigured with 192.168.1.254 local LAN address with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Configure the IP address of your computer’s Ethernet adapter that is connected to 800PoE to any address other than 192.168.1.1 in the same subnet mask, for example 192.168.1.10.

6. Continue configuring the switch using the “Configuration Menu” on the left side of the web page and by referring to the user manual of the device. Resetting the 800PoE switch to factory defaults you lose your password or the IP address of this switch, please follow the instructions below. 1.
