    Chapter 2: Hardware overview Feature descriptions USB ports All G-Series PBX models have two USB ports. • One port can be used to connect auxiliary memory in the form of a USB drive. This provides additional storage for voicemail, call recordings, and log files. Only one auxiliary memory device is supported at a time.

    The G-124 and G-1212 provide fail-over support on one FXS port. Thirty seconds after a power failure occurs, an FXS port is automatically connected to an FXO line to enable calling from an analog phone. Model Fail-over support G-122 None. G-124 FXS2 is connected to FXO1.

    Chapter 3: Installation Installation scenarios Installation scenarios The are a wide variety of ways to integrate the G-Series PBX into your existing networking infrastructure. To simplify the installation process, this guide recommends the following two scenarios. Scenario 1 This scenario illustrates one way to add the G-Series PBX to a network to take advantage of an existing broadband Internet connection for VoIP service.

A limited amount of system memory is available for this purpose, and once full, new items are discarded which can cause system errors.

    FXO9 on the G-1212 Connect the FXS ports • On the G-122, connect analog devices (telephones, fax machines) to the FXS1 and FXS2 ports as required. • On the G-124, connect an analog phone to FXS1. During a power failure, FXS1 is bridged to FXO1 allowing you to make an analog phone calls.

Define configuration settings as described in the following section. When done, click Next to continue. Use these fields to assign an IP address to ports 1, 2, and 3.

This template prevents users from making long distance calls. One application for this feature is to safeguard accounts for remote users (users that connect to the G-Series PBX from a remote location directly with a SIP phone).

    Chapter 3: Installation Run the setup wizard Configure phones All VoIP phones that will be used with the G-Series PBX can be added to the phone list and then provisioned with the proper operational settings. The G-Series PBX can automatically provision phones from Aastra, SNOM, and Yealink. Once the wizard is complete, and the G-Series PBX has restarted, all you need to do is plug these phones into your network, and they will retrieve their configuration settings from the G-Series PBX and become fully operational.
