Electrical Safety Precautions • Basic electrical safety precautions should be followed to protect you from harm and the Viglen CX135 Server from damage: • Be aware of the locations of the power on/off switch on the chassis as well as the room's emergency power-off switch, disconnection switch or electrical outlet.
General Safety Precautions Follow these rules to ensure general safety: • Keep the area around the Viglen CX135 Server clean and free of clutter. • The Viglen CX135 Server weighs approximately (28.7 kg) when fully loaded. When lifting the system, two people at either end should lift slowly with their feet spread out to distribute the weight.
Operating Precautions Care must be taken to assure that the chassis cover is in place when the Viglen CX135 is operating to assure proper cooling. Out of warranty damage to the Viglen CX135 system can occur if this practice is not strictly followed.
To prevent the motherboard from bending, keep one hand under the center of the board to support it when handling. The following measures are generally sufficient to protect your equipment from static discharge. Viglen CX135 User Guide – Version 1.0...

1. Before commencing any work inside your Viglen system please read the warnings and cautions section. 2. Remove the lid from the computer by removing the screws at the rear of the case. 3. Locate the Micro-PGA processors covered with a heat sink.
Installing the Heatsinks Please refer to Figure 21 for heatsink installation. Note that the motherboard shown below is not the Viglen VIG705P; however the heatsink location and installation procedure is identical. 1) Do not apply any thermal grease to the heatsink or the CPU die; the required amount of thermal grease has already been applied.
Installing Memory DIMMs Note! Please check with your Account Manager or the Viglen web site for recommended memory modules (www.viglen.co.uk). Caution! Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules to prevent any possible damage. Also note that the CX135 server does support two-way interleaving which means memory does not need to be installed in identical pairs.
Page 36
Use your thumbs to gently push near the edge of both ends of the module. This should release it from the slot. Memory Support The Viglen CX135 supports up to six 240-Pin DIMM sockets supporting up to 12 GB Registered ECC DDR II 400. Viglen CX135 User Guide – Version 1.0...
