2.2.4 Charging Your Radio

Prerequisites:
Do not charge the battery in a hazardous area.
Turn off the radio. When the radio is turned off, the battery charges faster.
Make sure you have an appropriate plug adapter.
Procedure Steps

Connect the charger to the charging socket at the base of the radio.

If needed, connect the appropriate plug adapter to the charger.
Plug the charger into a power outlet.

• Your service provider can configure the radio to turn on automatically after you insert the
battery.
• Your radio always powers up, if you remove the battery for a period shorter than 3-5 seconds.
• Motorola approved chargers provide optimum performance. Other chargers may not fully
charge your Motorola Lithium- Ion battery or may reduce the life of the battery.
• The battery can heat up during charging. After charging, make sure that the battery and the
radio are in the operating temperature range.
