Listening to Network Audio Files (USB)
Content on a USB storage device such as portable hard disk drive can be
accessed by simply connecting it to one of the three USB ports on the DMS-3.1.
The USB storage device used must be formatted for a FAT16 or FAT32 fi le
system. These are the most common fi le storage systems used today.
Note that each USB port corresponds to one of the three streams and content
will be accessible through that stream only.
Both Media Server and USB modes of playback will use the menu/fi le
structure presented by the source of the content. Essentially, the list of folders
and fi les being determined by the storage device can vary based on the
particular device and organization method used when storing fi les on them.
Because of this, some folders may be visible that aren't related to music such as
Photos or Movies but only compatible music fi les within them will be displayed
by the DMS-3.1 for selection.
